Welcome To Alaskan Outfitting

Please Bear with us, we are expaning out to our new format now.

We aim to provide the information you need to plan you trip to Alaska. We don’t have a lot of information on-line yet. Turns out, it takes a long time to create content for the web, especially when you have to work about careers and families. But we are proud the content we do have is the best you can find on the web and strive to keep it that way.

We want to help you find the two things you need to enjoy your trip to Alaska, information and the right gear. Check out our different departments to find out where to go and what to bring.

Fishing – Our fishing section is just starting to get fleshed out. Right now the best Content is going up in the location guides in the South Central Alaska Section. We started in the Anchorage area and will be moving into the Kenai Peninsula shortly.

Hiking and Camping – This section will be added to in near the future and will feature hiking areas and gear you will need to enjoy the outdoors.

Travel Information – If you are traveling to Alaska, check out our Travel Information. Right now we have a great page for ordering free visitor guides for any area of the state you plan to travel to.

Wildlife Viewing – Ecotourism is a huge industry in Alaska, this section will give you an idea of where to go and what to expect to see.

Arts and Gifts – This section currently contains a selection of vintage panoramic photos of Alaska but will grow into a one-stop Alaskan gift store.

Alaska Bookstore – If you are looking for information about Alaska, this is the place to go. Currently we have over 45 book reviews on line with more added every week.

Book of the Month

This is a great book about kids, a game, and a culture that few of us ever get a chance to experience. I can guarantee that after you read this book, you will be ordering tickets for the next Alaskan State Basketball Tournament in Anchorage. This story is about the Fort Yukon boys basketball team throughout their 2005 season. It is destined to be a classic of prep sports and Native American literature. Check out our full review here.

	Link of the Week - Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival - Homer's annual Birdwatching Festival is coming up May 4-7th. If you are in the area, check out the opportunities to see some of Alaska's most amazing inhabitants.
