Childs Glacier 1915The Childs and Miles Glaciers both terminate into the Copper River near the historic Million Dollar Bridge. The glaciers present huge faces along the river about 50 miles outside of Cordova on the only road running out of town (they are easy to find and hard to miss.) This first images shows the breadth of the face of Childs Glacier. If you have rafted the river or visited the area, you will never forget this image.

Miles and Child Glaiers 1915The second panoramic image available shows the historic Million Dollar Bridge that, in its day, delivered over a million dollars of copper ore to earn its name. Since the 1964 earthquake, which dropped one of the bridges spans, This point has been pretty much the end of the road. This sepia like images capture the haunting beauty of the area with the looming glaciers and braided river. If you have visited the bridge, you will notice the bridge is still fitted for rail. It was switched to a road bed in the fifties.
