Timothy Treadwell Books and Movies
2005
seems to be the year when all the facts and arguments about Timothy
Treadwell have finally come to light. Two biographies and two documentaries
were released during this year, roughly two years after the media
grabbed onto the news of his death.
Timothy’s life is still full of mysteries. He left behind a
hundred hours of video tape he took in Katmai National Park, a speckled
past full of little white lies, and two polarized groups that would
either like to make Timothy into a saint or to completely destroy
his legacy.
It will take time to find out what Timothy’s legacy will be,
but I think all the answers to his mystery have already been presented
in the books and movies on this page. I see three items as essential
if you want to know what Timothy was all about; His book Among Grizzlies,
Nick Jans Grizzly Maze, and Werner Herzog’s documentary –
Grizzly Man.

Among Grizzlies -
Timothy Treadwell - Timothy's
story in his own words. This is a strange book that maybe more
than anything else, represents the image that Treadwell wanted
to portray to the world. Read

Grizzly Man - Werner
Herzog - Reading can not take the place of seeing and
hearing Timothy Treadwell. This movie did more than anything
else to let me feel that I know Timothy and where he was coming
from. Read our full review
