This
is not a bad book. In fact, for what it is, it is a good book. But
I am a little concerned that someone may buy it without understanding
what it is. This book is a beautifully designed and illustrated booklet
that covers some of the more popular birds of Alaska. In fact, it
is a slicker, more commercial and abridged edition of Armstrong’s
Birds of Alaska. It really is meant to be a mass market introduction
to birds of Alaska, nothing more. This being said, it is a very “nice”
book.
If you are a serious birder, or a birder in general, get Birds of
Alaska. If you a birding Grandmother looking for a gift book for her
grandchildren, get this book.
