I don't think I can say it enough, Alaska puts money into it's tourist
areas. The viewing platform at Bird Creek is a good example of this.
There is a huge system of paths, bridges, and platforms that allow
pedestrians to view the creek without needing to cross the dangerous
traffic on the Seward Highway.
The platform also makes a good place for last minute preparations
before descending into the mud. Or it works if you are looking to
find a place where you can reorganize your gear without having to
worry about getting mud on your stuff.
