Here, people watch salmon from on top of the dam. Even if you have
no time to fish or if you have non-fishing members in your group,
it is worth your time to come to Ship Creek. A quick stop gives you
a chance to see a little bit of wild Alaska sneaking into Downtown
Anchorage. (That is, if you can forget that this is a hatchery run,
and you don't notice the crowds, and the parking lots, and the bridges...)
I really don't want to be too hard on Ship Creek. It is a great opportunity
and resource for the city of Anchorage but it is not the "true"
Alaskan experience.
