South Central Alaska Fishing Areas
South Central Alaska offers some of the best fishing in
Alaska. You will also find the most roads and accommodations here, so
this area is your best bet for do it yourself fishing trips. Because
of this ease of access and the fact that Anchorage and its quarter of
a million people are here, this will also be the most crowded fishing
location you’ll find.
Don’t let this sway you though, you can still easily have a true
Alaskan experience in South Central. If it’s your first trip,
try the Kenai Peninsula. It can offer anything you are looking for in
your Alaskan fishing trip.
 Anchorage
Area - So close to Alaska you can see it from
there. This will most likely be your gateway to the rest of
the state. If possible, explore away from here. But if you
can't leave the city, don't worry, you can still find some
decent fishing in and around the area. Here are some hightlights.

 Kenai
Peninsula - The perfect Alaskan sampler. Everything
you came to Alaska for can be found on the Kenai. The fishing
can be incredible. It's crowded at times but a perfect destination
for your first fishing trip to Alaska, especially for those
of you who are self guided and putting the trip together yourself.

 Prince
William Sound - The jewel of Alaska. Once spoiled
by the Exxon Valdez, you'll be hard pressed to find any signs
of the spill. In some ways, the area is still recovering but
the fish populations are unphased. It takes a little more effort
than fishing the Kenai Peninsula but the effort can be worth
it for wild beauty. Highlights:

Valley - Sometimes over looked by those rushing
