These pictures do a better job of showing us what we saw in that mixed eider flock than my binoculars did. The photos aren't stunning by any stretch, but they are interesting to see the flock of eiders without waveactions or adrenaline. Also, I quickly threw together one image that shows the birds at a glance.

These images are what I got when the flock flew by the boat. I have a string of these, but these are probably the best representative pictures. the first does not show the male king eider well, but it does so the size if the flock.
